You can follow it the whole way.
The prescribing side works the same way the pharmacy side does — connected, verifiable, and traceable.
Your physician writes the prescription and sends it straight to your chosen pharmacy, or holds it for you to use at any connected pharmacy with a code.
However a prescription is sent, HealthConnect makes sure it reaches you and the pharmacy. The signed copy from your physician stays the authoritative record.
When a prescription runs low, the pharmacy can request a renewal from your physician, and the approved renewal returns as a new e-prescription.
The physician who issued a prescription can cancel it, even after it has been partly dispensed.
Your physician can see whether a prescription was dispensed, partly filled, or cancelled, without calling the pharmacy.
Physicians and pharmacies can message each other about a prescription, and it stays attached to the record.
